I initially became interested in the financial industry while watching my oldest brother, Ben, who is 20 years my senior, navigate a successful career in the East Texas banking industry. He taught me the value of hard work, maintaining high morals, and the importance of investing in relationships – advice I’ve taken to heart these past 26 years in the business.
Prior to joining Stifel in 2021, I served as a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch (2002 to 2021) and Morgan Stanley (1996 to 2002). I received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Tyler and attended Southern Methodist University for graduate studies. In addition to holding Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses, as well as life, health, and variable insurance licenses (including annuities), I earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification. This certification signifies in-depth knowledge surrounding the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits, and estate planning.
I’m proud to share that many of my clients have been with me for the duration of my career. I am a strong listener and mindful practitioner. I strive to stay educated and well-read on financial practices and news. I also enjoy discussing a wide array of topics to better relate to and understand each client’s needs.
When I’m not working, I have several hobbies and interests that keep me energized. I am a board member for the Lakewood Neighborhood Association, have actively served in my church community, hold an adult black belt in Taekwondo, enjoy snow skiing and hiking, and am currently enjoying a new-found interest in cooking. I’m happily married to my wife of 26 years, Tracey, and enjoy spending time with our teenage daughters, Anna and Margaret, and our canine family, Ziggy and Ouisie.
